The Strategic Planning Division maintains data on new development within unincorporated Ada County and coordinates with COMPASS to help with current population estimates, demographic forecasts, and future transportation needs.

In 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau will be inviting all those living within the United States to participate in the 2020 Census. The census provides critical data that lawmakers, business owners, teachers, and others use to provide services, products, and support for members of the community. Federal funding for such things as hospitals, schools, roads, and other resources are distributed based upon data obtained from the census. Census results also determine the number of seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives and are used to draw congressional and state legislative districts.
