Meet the Treasurer

Elizabeth “Beth” Mahn is a fourth-generation Idahoan committed to serving the citizens of Ada County.  In 2018, she was elected Ada County Treasurer.

The Ada County Treasurer manages and invest public funds, processes millions of dollars of property taxes on behalf of schools, cities, and other districts, and oversees public administration cases. Beth has the experience, qualifications and desire to faithfully discharge these duties.

Beth holds a B.S. in Business, Accounting major, summa cum laude, and a Juris Doctor degree, both from the University of Idaho.  She developed accounting best practices as an auditor for a “Big 5” public accounting firm.  Beth also clerked for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court during the Great Recession and then served over 5 years as an Ada County Deputy Prosecutor on civil matters, including property tax collections and bankruptcy.  In 2016, Beth began working in the Ada County Treasurer’s Office as Finance Manager and quickly advanced to Chief Deputy Treasurer.

Beth’s vision for the Ada County Treasurer’s Office is to implement innovative solutions that promote accountability, fiscal responsibility, and transparency. Beth plans to further revise the property tax bills and notices to better educate taxpayers and to make these documents more accessible electronically.  Her conservative investment philosophy emphasizes safety, followed by liquidity and yield.

Beth is deeply honored with the opportunity to serve the taxpayers of Ada County and is committed to protecting your tax dollars.
