Internships

An internship with the Ada County Sheriff’s Office allows college students to get hands-on experience while obtaining credit for school. Please see your Internship Coordinator within your major for details on how to register for the credits.

Internships are unpaid, which allows flexibility for students, as they can volunteer with a variety of divisions during the semester. Interns can be placed in positions throughout the Ada County Jail, Work Release Center, Medical Unit, Patrol Division, Detectives, Community Resources Division, Crime Lab, Crime Research Unit, Records Division, Dispatch Center, Human Resources, and the Training Unit.

All interns must complete the same hiring process as paid employees (submit an employment application, interview, polygraph examination, background investigation, consumer credit check (depending on the area worked).
