FACES Victim Center

FACES of Hope Victim Center is located at 6th and Myrtle Street in downtown Boise. FACES is a one-stop triage facility in which trauma-informed specialists from 14 public and private community organizations collaborate. The mission is to reduce victimization with a safety net of crisis services. FACES achieves this goal by meeting the immediate medical, legal, and social needs of those affected by abuse and neglect in Ada County. FACES provides these services, as well as empowerment and self-defense classes, to specifically help victims of child abuse, elder abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault.

FACES is the first place most victims will go immediately following a trauma. By co-locating partners together, their combined efforts provide one safe, private, and supportive setting to stabilize victims quickly during a crisis. Co-location increases accessibility to community services; it reduces the potential that victims will overlook vital resources; and it lowers barriers to transportation, time, and information. Co-location also reduces the number of times that victims must re-tell their story to reduce further trauma. All services are voluntarily provided at no cost to victims. To avoid duplication, after a FACES multi-disciplinary team has stabilized a victim, the team can provide a warm handoff to offsite community partners, who offer long-term services for lifelong healing. FACES is the ultimate safety net of social services for victims of abuse and neglect in Ada County.
