Octavius Jamal Walker, 26, of Jackson, Georgia, entered a guilty plea yesterday to one count of Conspiracy to Commit Grand Theft and one count of Burglary. Walker was arrested in June of 2014 following a joint investigation by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, Boise Police Department, and Meridian Police Department. Walker and his co-conspirators had broken into several vehicles throughout the Treasure Valley, stealing women’s purses and identification. The next day, the group cashed thousands of dollars of stolen and forged checks at local banks.
The Honorable Samuel Hoagland set sentencing for May 7, 2015 at 2:00pm. Walker is being held at the Ada County Jail on a $1 million bond. He faces up to 14 years in prison on the Conspiracy count and 10 years on the Burglary.
