On April 22, 2016, an Ada County Jury convicted Brandon Tyler Bahr of First Degree Murder, Grand Theft, and Petit Theft for the September 23, 2015, murder of Zacheriah Peterson. The jury acquitted Bahr on an aggravated assault charge and the weapon enhancement.
The jury heard evidence that Bahr was angry because his ex-girlfriend was dating another man, Zacheriah Peterson. Bahr arranged a meeting with Zacheriah at the Boise Depot and stole the murder weapon, a handgun, as well as a bandana to disguise his identity. Bahr waited for Zacheriah to arrive and shortly thereafter, Bahr pulled out the handgun and shot Zacheriah in the chest, killing him.
The Honorable Patrick Owen presided over the trial and scheduled a sentencing hearing for June 24, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Brandon Bahr faces up to fixed life for First Degree Murder.
