Jeffery Alan Baker, 53, of Boise, Idaho, was found guilty of first degree murder for the death of his eleven week old daughter, Gracelynn Baker. The infant died as the result of Abusive Head Injury, inflicted by the defendant, on May 10, 2010, while he was alone with her in his Boise home. The case was investigated by the Boise Police Department, Special Victim’s Unit.
An Ada County jury heard two weeks of evidence and deliberated for six hours before finding the defendant guilty. The penalty for first degree murder is a life sentence with a minimum 10 years to be served before parole eligibility.
Baker will be sentenced on July12, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. by the Honorable Patrick Owen. Baker is currently being held at the Idaho Correction Center where he is serving a sentence for Forgery.
