Energy conservation and natural resource management have been a major priority for Ada County for many years. Our approach is to consolidate the planning, improve communication, and highlight the efforts and successes of the individuals and departments committed to protecting and improving our environment.
As members of the US Green Building Council, Ada County incorporates sustainable building practices into its construction and remodeling projects. In 2003, Ada County Commissioners signed the Green Building Resolution 1180 calling for all new construction and major retrofit projects for county facilities and buildings over 10,000 square feet of occupied space, to meet or exceed Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) standards
