MISSION
To provide superior customer service to the public when registering and titling motor vehicles.

VISION
As the number of on-site transactions continues to increase, the Motor Vehicle Division will acquire and utilize appropriate state-of-the-art technology to safely, efficiently and conveniently provide patrons with more options to conduct transactions. The Motor Vehicle Division will continue to combat negative perceptions by providing fast, friendly customer service while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Idaho driver’s licenses, instruction permits, or identification cards are only issued at the Sheriff’s Office at 400 N Benjamin Ln., Boise.

New Time Saver!  No waiting!  For the first time available in Idaho, now you can make an appointment to conduct your DMV transaction!  Select a date and time for quick and convenient walk-up service. Appointments are now available at Franklin, Meridian, and Chinden locations via our scheduling website: https://dmvscheduling.adacounty.id.gov/

Please note the following plate types cannot currently be renewed online: Boats, Classic, Dealer, Exempt, Legislative, Loaner, Off-Road, Old Timer, Repossession, Snowmobiles, and Transporter.

Idaho State Parks Passport

In partnership with Idaho Parks & Recreation, annual Parks Passports will be available for purchase at all Ada County DMV offices. The annual Parks Passport is $10.00 per vehicle, per year, and provides admission to all 30 Idaho State Parks, trail and boat launch access, and even camping discounts. The Passport expires concurrently with vehicle registration. A full list of Idaho State Parks is available at www.idahoparkspassport.com
